Re: Six year wait for speeding signs over

Bemused dog walker responds: "The illuminated signs flash the speed limit to remind drivers to slow down if, for example, they come in from the 40mph speed limit on the south side and do not drop down to 30mph when the speed limit changes. How naive can the authorities/experts be?

Yes, it reminds drivers to slow down... try standing by the sign (at the northern end of Kintore, down from the Tavelty junction).
• Approximately 20% of drivers don't need to be reminded
• another 20% slow down and continue
• the remainder either slow down (may be they think it has a camera - now there's an idea!) and then speed up again or just continue on their way.

While you're standing watching this all take place, feel the wind in your face from vehicles leaving Kintore.

So... we have signs which may/may not have an effect on traffic speeds entering Kintore but does little or nothing to control the speed of that traffic through Kintore....brilliant or what?!
