Finding out what our younger citizens want

We're told that Kintore is the fastest growing village or town in Aberdeenshire, so it is perhaps not surprising that it should have some growing pains. Are there adequate facilities for our younger citizens?

You can see little groups of youngsters, huddled on the coldest of winter evenings in a wee bourachie near the Town House, or in a huddle at the park bench next to the old bank building. Where else can they go?

Then boredom, inevitably, can set in, which can lead to problems.

This is an important issue for our community and one that Kintore & District Community Council, through the hard work of some of our fellow citizens, is determined to tackle.

Co-ordinated through the council, a group of volunteers are planning a meeting on March 9 to find out what our younger citizens want and to find ways of providing what's needed.

The team are currently finalising plans and thoughts, but please put the date in your diary now - Friday, March 9 at 7.30 at Kintore School Gym. More details will be published on this website soon.

This is an important issue for our community, so please show your support by coming along to the meeting.
