We want our summer back!

At the beginning of July it seemed that we were in for a cracker of a summer. But it has been downhill since.

When we headed off for our summer holidays last month it was at the end of a long hot spell. Sitting outside having lunch on the Sunday before we left, the temperature was hitting 30C and, so, when we arrived at our destination, it was like having more of the same.

Arriving back in Kintore was a bit of a shock however. Instead of 30C, the temperature was 13C and it was still July. I do recall one time in July having been away and coming back to find everyone brown as berries, saying the weather had been fantastic. This time everyone was saying the weather was terrible.

As the forecast is now talking at least into twenties, let's hope we get an Indian summer. The kids will be back in school, so that's another reason to expect it!
