Bridgealehouse enquiry

An Edinburgh visitor wonders if Bridgealehouse is open to the public.

Are the public admitted to the old Town house which became the coaching inn called Bridge Ale House? My ancestors lived there and I would be glad to see the interior. I have walked round the outside.

My second cousin from Dublin and myself will be in Aberdeenshire in May 2006. We have lots of ancestors in Aberdeenshire among the families of Fraser, Gordon, Russell, Begg and Birnie.

It took us years to discover where Bridgealehouse was as out great great aunt called it Brigellis. Her letter is quite clear about some of our Fraser ancestors living there.
