Average speed cameras to come to North East?
28/03/08 13:13
News that average speed cameras may
come to the North East, causes concern. It's not that I have any
desire to flout the speed limits. I just think that the best place
for our eyes to focus, as drivers, is on the road.... not on our
speedometers! Read More...

Early meeting in Edinburgh? Take the train the previous day!
19/02/08 19:27
After colleagues repeatedly telling me
that the sensible way to attend meetings in Edinburgh was to take
the train, I eventually decided to take the hint, encouraged by the
thought of battling with rush hour traffic to get over the Forth
Bridge. But I was in for a shock. Read More...
Why treat road users like adversaries?
09/12/07 22:38
Why is it that councils insist on
treating the road user like they were the enemy. Inevitably it gets
peoples' back up and in a situation like that you are never going
to get anywhere in changing attitudes.
Cameras, parking restrictions, bus lanes, red lights all make the road user feel like the enemy.
That's why the road user no longer trusts any new initiative, such as road tolls.
In any case, most of the people behind law enforcement, or traffic management are road users too. Why not change the attitude to be on side together?

Bad news/good news on Haudagain
31/10/07 09:22
It's perhaps appropriate that
Halloween should bring some news of movement on Aberdeen's very own
horror story - "The Haudagain Roundabout". The bad news is that the
next stage of the process - a public consulation - has been delayed
until 2008. The good news? Well it just seems that the penny may
have dropped. Sticking plaster is not a solution. Read More...

Trams and rail links versus north roads
30/05/07 14:53
There have been suggestions (probably
mischievous) that the Scottish Government is planning to ditch the
massively expensive plans for trams and a rail link to Edinburgh
Airport in favour of dualling the A9 road to Inverness. No doubt
these rumours have been orchestrated to try and create
conflict. Read More...
