Bad news/good news on Haudagain

It's perhaps appropriate that
Halloween should bring some news of movement on Aberdeen's very own
horror story - "The Haudagain Roundabout". The bad news is that the
next stage of the process - a public consulation - has been delayed
until 2008. The good news? Well it just seems that the penny may
have dropped. Sticking plaster is not a solution.
There is an inkling that the delay is because the planners are beginning to recognise that adding two new junctions and two extra set of traffic lights is not going to ease the traffic problems. (Did anyone ever think that extra junctions and extra traffic lights could improve the flow?
There is a suggestion that the delay is because a more radical solution is being proposed. If the penny has dropped that this junction needs more than sticking plaster solutions that has to be a good thing.
