AYRSHIRE McEWENS AND HUNTERS
We have a McEwen in our tree and a Hunter. Barnabas McEwen married Jean Hunter at the Presbyterian Church at Newton-on-Ayr in 1829. This church is just across the river in Ayr. The church records show the banns record. They had a son, James McEwen born in 1830. The church record shows a Janet McEwen in the same record with James, but I have no information on her.
James came to America when he was young, in the early 1830's because there is a record for Barnabas in the Enfield, Connecticut history records. I descend from James.
I don't have much information on Barnabas except that James birth certificate says Barnabas was born in Ireland(I assume Northern Ireland). I think Barnabas may have been born circa 1805-10.
I have no information on Jean Hunter. I assume she was born in Ayrshire (maybe Ayr) and that she may have been born circa 1810-15. I have no record of Jean in the US. Perhaps she died young or en route.
Any clue would be most appreciated.

I am looking for anyone who might have known an Anne Mckune (McEwan) born in Dumfries in the early 1900's
She emigrated to South Africa in the 1940's where she remained the rest of her life
Thanks and regards
