Police Kintore crime update

Crimefiles raised by Grampian Police between 19 January 2010 and 16 February 2010 regarding the Kintore and District Community Council area:
Road Traffic 13
Assault 1
Drugs 1
Vandalism 1
Total 16
In the reporting period several drivers have been reported for speeding on the A96 again. The highest detected speeds were 98 mph and 99 mph. There was also one drink driver reported for driving at 94 mph. The rest of the crimefiles result from documentary or minor road traffic offences.
The drugs crimefile was raised following a vehicle stop. Two persons have been reported for personal amounts of cannabis.
One vandalism Crimefile has been created resulting from a report of youths being seen knocking several wing mirrors off cars parked on Townhead Terrace, Kintore. Those responsible were believed to have boarded a bus but have not been traced to date. Enquiries are ongoing into this.
Opportunistic crime is continuing in the Garioch area. In the past week several vehicles in the Blackburn area, which have been left insecure have been entered and items taken.
